Life TCG’s Mammals Special Edition has officially launched, and every card is now live on HoloHoard — fully catalogued, artwork included.
Whether you’re hunting a 1-of-1 Continent Holo or building out your set collection, here’s everything you need to know.
What Is the Mammals Special Edition?
The Mammals Special Edition (SE) is Life TCG’s latest set — and it’s more than a reprint. It brings back fan-favourite designs from the original 1st Edition while introducing new cards, new artwork, and brand-new gameplay mechanics. If you loved the first set, this is the version you’ve been waiting for.
New Cards, New Mechanic: Continental Balance
The headline addition in Mammals SE is the Continent cards — seven stunningly beautiful drawn cards representing each continent on Earth, each one central to the new Continental Balance gameplay mechanic.
These aren’t just gameplay pieces — they’re chase cards in their own right. Each continent has a Holo 1-of-1 variant, meaning only one person in the world will own each. Seven continents, seven lucky collectors. One of them has been found! Will you pull one of the others?
On average, 1 in every 5 packs will contain a Continent card, so they’re accessible enough to pull naturally but rare enough to be genuinely exciting when you do.
Non-holo Continent cards are available too — and given how central they are to Continental Balance, most players building a competitive deck will want a full set.
The Card Types in Mammals SE
There are seven distinct card types in the Mammals Special Edition, spanning the full range from everday commons to the rarest holos:
- 1st Edition Holographic — original 1st Ed holos, now officially catalogued
- SE Holo — new holographic variants exclusive to this set
- Promo Set Holo — limited promotional holographics
- SE Extended — full-bleed extended art cards
- SE Rare — standard rares
- SE Uncommon — uncommons
- SE Common — the backbone of every collection and deck
Whether you’re completing the set or cherry-picking the highest-tier cards, HoloHoard gives you a clear view of exactly what exists and what you still need.
Going Green With WWF-UK
In partnership with WWF-UK, Life TCG has moved from plastic packs to paper packaging for Mammals SE. It’s a meaningful change for a game built around the natural world, and a step the team has been working toward for a while.
100% of Artwork. Every Set. Every Variant.
This launch also marks a major milestone for the Life TCG catalogue on HoloHoard. We’ve completed a full realignment of all Life TCG sets against official catalogues — including the Kickstarter set — and we now have 100% of artwork across the board.
That means:
- Every card has its artwork on the platform
- Every variant is correctly catalogued
- Kickstarter backers can finally track their exclusive cards properly
This took a serious amount of work behind the scenes, and it makes the Life TCG section on HoloHoard the most complete digital catalogue of the franchise anywhere.
